How I Spent My Summer in Tural

My experience in Dawntrail, as told through screen shots:

Got this in an email from Square at the end of June and thought it was too cute not to keep.

Had to add this in from the prequel quests because of the nod to Relm from Final Fantasy VI

Some parts of Tural are simply breathtaking!

The explanation he was about to give was definitely a punch in the gut and I was not prepared.

I laughed at this way too hard.

As soon as I saw this bitch for the first time in the story, I knew she was trouble.

This part was very disheartening.

I guess what they were trying to get at was even if and when people die, they still live on as long as we remember them. As long as we live, they live too. I stopped taking screenshots after that last one partly because it broke me and largely to do with my rage toward Erenville’s mother. My own mother did something similar to me before her death and it still upsets me after all these years, so this expansion definitely ended on a sour note for me.

Besides the upsetting ending, I felt my “vacation” to Tural was interesting and a lot of fun in some places and quite a slog in others. I have reason to believe that this expansion was made while people were still in lockdown during COVID because it sort of “feels” that way? I don’t know how to put my finger on it, but some of it feels half finished to me.

I’m definitely interested to see where the team goes from here because after Endwalker, I was not expecting any of this.
